Dreamgirls

Booked out of camp last afternoon and went to watch 'Dreamgirls' with fafa... I was expecting a very bimbo movie with lots of pretty faces. Instead, this is one awesome movie, one of those rare movies that actually moved me to tears at some points. It is only seemed appropriate for me to blog about this one very good movie.

Dreamgirl is well scripted movie, with much depth and beautiful music. Of course, Jennifer Hudson's well deserved award winning performance. Her act alone will compensate whatever boring scenes by Beyonce. You have to watch her "And I am telling you" stand alone moment in the movie. Noone will ever believe this is her first movie as you watch her powerful voice and screen dominating act. The character's cry of desperation simply cut through you. And Keith Robinson, very good looking African Amercian that made me go gaga for a while.

In the end, I watched a movie about the struggle of the African Amercian, the devastating effort of man's greed who go all out to betray his loved ones, a woman's struggle on staying alive and remaining sane by Hudson and another woman's who fought to break free by Beyonce.
