Photo Story

Recently, I was reminded that I need to update my photos on various profiles. Those photos according to my close friends, do not look like me. I thought so too. The trouble is, I realised I actually do not have much individual photos of myself for the past two years.

I searched through my photo album in my powerbook and rediscovered some of the old photos that I have scanned and stored last year. Photos are very precious to me as it is the best ways to document how much I am changed.

2 yo, rrobably one of the first sign that I am actually born gay... This is the oldest photo of me. I do not come from a well off family and camera was a luxury. This photo must be taken at a relative's place. I think the cuteness started really early. :P

12 yo. This is the first shirt I chose for myself. I remember I like it so much that I wore it almost every outing. This overexposed photo, taken by my dearest sister on Northern Palace, a famous Chinese Dim Sum restuarant in the now torn down Colombo Court. In its place, now stands the landing site of the UFO.

17yo, one presentation session at SP architectural studio. I used to hate my black and thick hair so much that I wore caps to school everyday.
20 yo, at Sarimbun Armour playground, one of the most memorable training I had in my entire army career. As a armoured infantryman, we trained really really hard with hellish hours. The physical challenge came from lack of sleep, we trained 48 hours with 45 min of sleep in between. Probably one of the best reason of high fatal accidents in armour. As we were moving in M113, we stored lots of food in the cargo compartment, hence the chocolate biscuit.

Also happened during my army training, we were issued with 2000 blanks per person per day. At one point, we found it so frustrating to shoot those blanks that choked up your guns that we started to throw them away. One bloody idiot thrown a carton away, completely intact. The training officer found that box and then it was hell. One asshole who saw me throwing two blanks away came to me and commented that I am too chicken to admit. (when he did the same). For a person who hated to be outed by others, I confessed to my superiors, of course to much disbelief of others.

Anyway, to cut the story short, I was severely punished and then my whole platoon came to my support. They said if I was to be punished, they would join me. Very emotional, very Hollywood prison style. So ya, we were made to do fast march for two hours. :( But that is one thing of man, you stand by your friend. And they were just amazed of my guts too.

21yo, at Shangrila Batu Ferringgi Beach, beautiful hotel. My first trip with my army friends and refused to go to brothels with them.
At 23 yo and taken after a Batu Pahat trip. My first trip with my air force colleagues (actually a whole group of uncles) and we got closer and understand each other more after this trip. I like this photo alot, it was taken when I was unprepared, non posing.

24yo, at the time when I was a complete asshole. Multiple dating different people and rejecting people. :(

25yo, on the grass patch outside Sydney Contemporary Arts Museum next to Circular Pier.

25 yo, my all time favourite photo, and over used for my online profiles. Taken on the beautiful beach just outside Perth, facing the Indian Ocean.

26 yo, me in my super nerdy aviation spectacles. These spectacles are given free by the airforce for our airborne operation. I never wore them at work simply because I am too vain for that. I like to use my big eyes to get my subordinate move their butts. (some very cute too). I only use the spectacles for reading at home. They are perfect for reading and working and I still wear them.

26yo , another one of my classic nerdy photo. In this, I was very drunk and smiling in a very unusual way to my colleague. I like to do the bbq whenever there is unit happy hour. I hated to eat but loved to drink.
