These days, when people upset or disappoint me... I make it a point to tell them in face that I am feeling upset and talking to them there and then won't be helpful. I will walk away, calm down and revisit the issue. If not, I will burst on the spot and sound irrational. In this way, I give myself a chance to explain why I feel this way and encourage the person to respond.
I was so near bursting on Saturday evening, so much so I have to sit down outside the Esplanade Library to breathe hard. The headache is beyond description and I have to tell the person I shall not talk to him until Sunday.
At 30 yo, I lost most of the anger that was in me when I am a teenage. Still, I know I can reach my boiling point.

hmmmm.... I don't think we ever lose our ability to get angry even when we reach a certain age. it's just that we are either able to control it better (eg: not "losing our cool" so quickly), or channel it to other uses (eg: passion or that "fire in the belly").
so who was it who made our 29-going-on-30 yr old debutante so angry???
